The ACT Young Liberals are a diverse group of young adults who are committed to the advancement of the core values that govern the Liberal Party. The executive works hard to maintain a balance between social events and core political engagement. While the movement is a sociable organisation, we encourage our membership to become politically engaged and aware. Throughout the year, members are invited to hear from a range of guest speakers, speaking on topics such as foreign policy, public transport and education, to foster a greater understanding of the world we live in.

As a member of the Young Liberals, you will be afforded many opportunities to advance your understanding of politics and what it means to be a “Liberal”. We encourage debate and are always keen to push the agenda in the senior party.

Membership of the Young Liberals offers unique benefits and a real opportunity to affect change. In the past the Young Liberals have been successful in pushing policy through to the senior party. Most recently, the movement was successful in getting the Canberra Liberals commit to the abolition of pay roll tax.

As a resident in the ACT we are uniquely situated in the centre of the nation’s political heart. Our members are granted exclusive access to both our Federal and Territory representatives who regularly attend our functions.
